Pick-up orders
This article explains how pick-up orders work at Amsterdam Warehouse Company (AWC), from placing the order in the portal to coordinating with your transport company.
1. Placing a pick-up order
All pick-up orders must be entered via the customer portal.
Orders by email, phone, or checkout notes are not processed.
Once your order is submitted, AWC will prepare it according to the standard lead time.
For clients under fiscal representation, uploading a valid sales invoice is mandatory before the order can be processed.
2. Lead times
We follow the ABC principle:
-
Day A – order entry
-
Day B – order picking
-
Day C – outbound / shipping
However, for small orders picked up in person (for example, a few boxes collected by car or small van), we can prepare the order within 4 hours after entry, provided that:
-
The order is placed between 07:00 and 12:00 (Amsterdam time).
-
Pick-up takes place within our working hours (07:00–16:00).
-
AWC has confirmed the collection time.
Larger or mixed pallet orders (more than two pallets or many SKUs) require at least one full working day for preparation.
3. Coordination with transport companies
Transport companies must contact AWC directly via order@amsterdamwarehouse.com once they have scheduled a pick-up date.
This ensures:
-
Smooth coordination without waiting times.
-
Proper document control for bonded or excise goods.
-
The carrier receives all loading information directly.
For detailed guidance, see How to coordinate pick-ups with Amsterdam Warehouse Company.
4. Documents and requirements
-
For non-EU shipments, the transport company must notify the Customs Office of Exit before loading.
-
For excise goods, AWC issues a Final Loading List to the carrier.
-
Drivers without a confirmed appointment may be refused entry at the warehouse gate.
