How to coordinate pick-ups with Amsterdam Warehouse Company
This article explains how to arrange pick-ups at Amsterdam Warehouse Company (AWC) efficiently and correctly. It ensures smooth coordination between our warehouse, your carrier, and your team.
Purpose
To guarantee that all pick-ups are handled efficiently and without delay, AWC coordinates directly with the transport company.
This allows us to manage warehouse planning, document control, and customs requirements in real time.
Standard procedure
-
Schedule communication
Once your transport company has scheduled a pick-up date, they must contact AWC directly via order@amsterdamwarehouse.com.
AWC will confirm the appointment and share all relevant loading information. -
Client action in the portal
You only need to enter an indicative pick-up date in the portal when creating your order.
This helps with internal planning, but AWC will always finalize the actual pick-up date with the carrier. -
Coordination
-
The pick-up is only confirmed once AWC and the carrier have aligned the schedule.
-
AWC will send all final loading lists and instructions directly to the carrier.
-
Clients are informed automatically once the goods have been collected.
-
Preparation time
-
Large or mixed pallet orders (for example, full containers) may require extra preparation time.
-
Orders are only picked after a confirmed pick-up appointment is scheduled.
-
For excise goods, a final loading list must be provided to the carrier before departure.
Responsibilities
-
If a foreign sender arranges transport, the client is responsible for clearing the excise document.
-
If AWC or Amsterdam Freight Company arranges the transport, the forwarding agent assumes responsibility.
-
For bonded or excise goods, ensure the transport company complies with customs formalities before loading.
